Chesapeake, VA (June 28, 2021) – City officials say that a section of Battlefield Boulevard was closed for several hours after a crash occurred on Sunday afternoon, June 27, and left at least three victims seriously injured.
Officers with the Chesapeake Police Department say that they received a call around 2:00 p.m. about a multi-vehicle crash that happened in the 3700 block of South Battlefield Boulevard. The road was closed at the Water Treatment Plant while police investigated and cleared the scene.
Initial reports state that a silver SUV traveling southbound crossed over the center line and hit a truck towing a camper head-on. The SUV’s driver was transported to an area medical center via Nightingale. The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were both taken to a hospital by ambulance. No specific information about their conditions was provided, however.
