Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Virginia Beach
According to 13News Now, a man has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence after striking two pedestrians in a crosswalk outside of the Tupelo Honey Café at around 4:00 pm on Monday, August 22, 2022. The driver, Nathan Poole, reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana before getting behind the wheel of his pickup.
The fatal DUI accident left one person dead and one person seriously injured. Local law enforcement indicates that the truck hit them as they entered a crosswalk in a busy intersection near the Virginia Beach Town Center. The two victims were in their 70s. 76-year-old Rosa Blanco died at the scene, while the other woman went into cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital. She is currently in stable condition.
