Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Virginia
More than 800 people lose their lives in motor vehicle accidents in the Commonwealth of Virginia each year. Another 65,000 people are seriously injured as a result of these collisions and continue to suffer from long-term physical problems or emotional trauma in the aftermath, especially if they sustain TBIs, fractures, spinal cord injuries, and more. As a result of these serious accidents, particularly those involving several cars, victims face drastic limitations going forward. Although serious motor vehicle accidents can happen for a variety of reasons, the majority of fatal crashes in our state fall under one of three causes, including:
- Speeding: Speed is the main factor in nearly half of fatal accidents occurring in Virginia.
- Drunk driving: Almost 30% of fatal crashes across the state involved at least one driver under the influence.
- Violating traffic laws: Distracted driving, texting behind the wheel, or failing to yield to other drivers as a major cause of serious Virginia wrecks.
Even if you strive to protect yourself and others while on the road, there is no way to guarantee that others will act responsibly. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of people are left with debilitating injuries after accidents that are caused by the negligence of another driver. Oftentimes, these victims require medical treatment and ongoing therapy that can quickly add up to tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket.
