Written by: Virginia Beach Injury Law

Hampton, VA (June 17, 2021) – Authorities responded to the scene of a serious car accident that occurred in the Hampton area last Friday afternoon, June 11, and have now identified a victim who died in the crash.

Around 1:00 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to Interstate 664 near Hampton after receiving reports of a two-car crash on the highway. Initial reports stated that a man driving northbound was struck by a gold SUV, causing him to spin out into the barrier wall of the roadway. The man was ejected from his vehicle after it overturned several times.

Paramedics and fire rescue units arrived at the scene shortly after police, though they pronounced the victim deceased as a result of the critical injuries he sustained. The victim has now been identified as 50-year-old Kevin Wayne Reddick.

The wreck remains under investigation, however. Police have not issued an update on the other individuals’ conditions.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Kevin Reddick. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone who was affected by this accident.

Car Accidents in Hampton Roads, Virginia

Accidents involving cars, trucks, SUVs, and other motor vehicles leave more than 60,000 people injured in the state of Virginia each year, particularly in busier areas like Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and the greater Hampton Roads area. Though these accidents are often preventable, we continue to see innocent victims suffer as a result of other drivers’ reckless actions. From speeding to getting behind the wheel while drunk or texting and driver, these negligent parties cause serious accidents that put everyone on the road at risk.

Victims who sustain injuries as a result of these car accidents often require extensive medical treatment and have to spend several months or even years recovering. Treatment options to help victims in the aftermath of their accidents, including physical therapy, surgery, and therapy to address emotional trauma, come at a high price with no guarantee of a full recovery. In fact, thousands of victims across the country are left permanently disabled as a result of critical crash injuries. For these reasons and more, it’s crucial that you reach out to a car accident attorney in Virginia as soon as possible if you’ve suffered in an accident that’s occurred through no fault of your own. After discussing your legal options with an experienced attorney, you may discover that you’re entitled to recover compensation to alleviate the financial burdens you face from accident expenses.
