Hampton, VA (July 10, 2021) – Officers with the Hampton Police Department are investigating a crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle that left one person seriously injured on Saturday evening, July 10.
According to initial reports from officials, the crash involved a bicyclist and a vehicle in the 1200 block of Big Bethel Road around 7:15 p.m. The events leading up to the collision are still unclear, though investigators say that one person sustained life-threatening injuries. EMS units arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and transported the victim to an area medical center, where they remain in serious condition. It’s unclear if any other individuals involved suffered injuries.
There is no further information at this time, but officers say the investigation is ongoing.
