Virginia Beach, VA (August 11, 2020) – An automobile accident reported on Monday left two people hospitalized in the Norfolk area. At around 7:40 a.m., on August 10, emergency crews in the Norfolk area were called to the scene of a crash on Northampton Boulevard.
Reports show that a semi-truck crashed into two other vehicles on Northampton Road near the Norfolk Premium Outlets. The semi-truck continued forward, pinning one of the vehicles between its front end and a building along the side of the road. Two people were trapped inside their vehicle for an extended time. Firefighters worked aggressively to remove the two trapped victims but had difficulties accessing them due to the position the vehicles came to rest in and the extent of damages. Crews were able to successfully remove the victims from their vehicles. Both victims were rushed to area hospitals via Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance. At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
