James City County, VA (November 21, 2020) – A crash involving two vehicles claimed the life of one person in the James City County area near York County. At approximately 6:30 p.m., on November 19, the Virginia State Police were called to the site of a crash on Interstate 64.
Reports show that a 2016 Nissan Versa was involved in a collision on the eastbound side of the interstate near mile marker 244. Part of the vehicle broke off and crashed into a second vehicle, a Honda CRV. The Nissan continued forward and crashed into a guardrail, then went off the road and crashed into a tree. The vehicle then burst into flames.
The driver of the Nissan, who has not been publicly identified, was fatally injured in the crash. The victim was immediately pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the Virginia State Police are investigating the crash.
