Newport News, VA (April 3, 2021) – Officers with the Newport News Police Department are investigating after they say a person was hit by two vehicles and killed on Friday evening, April 2.
Dispatchers say they got a call around 8:30 p.m. Witnesses say that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Jefferson Avenue near the I-64 eastbound ramp. Paramedics say they found a male who’d been hit by two cars once they arrived at the location. They say he died before they could transport him to an area hospital.
Both drivers stopped and spoke to authorities. The investigation is ongoing, however, and no further details about the events leading up to the collision have been released.
