Newport News, VA – Police Investigating Injury Car Accident on I-64 at Ft Eustis Blvd

Newport News, VA (July 21, 2021) – At least one person was injured in a car accident that occurred on Wednesday evening, July 21, police and Hampton Roads officials said in a statement.

Officers with the Newport News Police Department said that the accident happened around 11:00 p.m. on Interstate 64 near mile marker 250.2. The exit 250 ramp to Fort Eustis Boulevard was blocked as a result of the collision. Paramedics were at the scene to transport injured victims, though the total number of individuals involved is unknown. Initial reports indicate that two vehicles were involved and collided in the right eastbound lanes of the highway.

Further details have not been released, but police say that their investigation is ongoing. NNPD officers have asked that witnesses or any other person with information about the wreck contact them.
