Norfolk, VA (June 4, 2022) – At least two drivers were engaged in a collision that took place early late on Saturday evening, June 4, and which apparently resulted in a number of injuries.
According to police dispatch and officers with the Norfolk Police Department, they got the report for the first time at around 10:30 p.m. and responded to the area of westbound Interstate 264 at Newtown Road and mile marker 13.4. The actual number of patients who were transported by ambulance to a local medical facility was not made public; nevertheless, news video recorded in the vicinity showed a number of emergency medical service vehicles on the site.
While Norfolk PD detectives attempted to complete the on-scene portion of their investigation, they directed cars to take other routes and closed multiple lanes of the roadway.
