Norfolk, VA (June 11, 2022) – At least one person was hurt early Saturday evening, June 11, in a car accident in the Norfolk region.

According to Norfolk Police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 shortly before 6:00 p.m. The collision occurred around mile marker 283 and I-264 westbound Exit 284A. One of the drivers or passengers involved in the incident received moderate injuries and was sent to a local medical facility for further care.

Officers did not divulge specific details about those involved or the cause of the collision, but they did say that two vehicles collided in the right lanes of the highway. The crash is currently under investigation, and no other information on the parties involved has been released.

In the hopes of a complete recovery, our thoughts and best wishes are with the injured victims and their families.

Norfolk-Area Vehicle Wrecks & Injuries

Throughout Virginia, hundreds of people are critically wounded or killed in traffic-related incidents, ranging from pedestrian accidents to car collisions and beyond. After suffering at the hands of a negligent or irresponsible driver, these victims and their families pay a steep price. Hundreds of patients are sent to surrounding medical institutions for emergency care, major operations, and agonizing treatments, where they may recuperate for days, weeks, or months.

In addition, victims often need treatment for emotional trauma, which may be time-consuming and costly. Unfortunately, not every accident victim recovers, leaving grieving families to suffer financially while they grieve their tragic loss.

Moreover, these tragedies are often preventable, making the shattering consequences that families are forced to endure all the more excruciating, particularly considering that many calamities are caused by the negligent or irresponsible behavior of others. Statistics indicate that more than 80 percent of automotive collisions are caused by drivers who are distracted, drunk, or engaging in irresponsible behavior while behind the wheel. However, victims and their families may be able to seek legal recourse if they are hurt in an accident for which they were not responsible.

If a person has suffered serious injuries or died as a result of an accident caused by the negligence of another driver, their family should immediately contact a Virginia car accident attorney. Families may be entitled to compensation for their losses and any future financial hardships.

Fortunately, contacting an experienced Virginia attorney and gaining a better understanding of your legal options may help you achieve a settlement. A trained legal team may help victims recuperate without undue stress after suffering serious injuries or support families in coping with a tragic loss caused by another driver’s irresponsibility.
