Car Accident Injuries in Virginia
Throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, hundreds of people sustain serious injuries or are killed in traffic-related incidents, from pedestrian accidents to car wrecks and beyond. Unfortunately, these victims and their families pay a huge price after suffering at the hands of a negligent or reckless driver. Hundreds of victims are rushed to area medical centers for emergency medical treatment, major surgeries, and painful procedures, spending days or even weeks and months in recovery.
Moreover, victims often require therapy for emotional trauma, which can be time-consuming and costly. Sadly, not every accident victim is able to recover, leaving grieving families to deal with financial difficulties while attempting to recover from their devastating loss.
To add insult to injury, these accidents are often preventable, which makes the overwhelming consequences families are forced to endure even more painful, particularly since negligent or reckless actions of others are the cause of these accidents. Statistics show that the majority of collisions, more than 80%, are caused by drivers who are distracted, impaired, or engaging in reckless behaviors while operating their vehicles. However, victims and their families may have legal recourse after suffering in a crash that’s occurred through no fault of their own.
If a victim has sustained serious injuries or even died as a result of an accident caused by another driver’s negligence, their families should reach out to a car accident attorney in Virginia as soon as possible. Families may be entitled to compensation to help cover their losses and the financial burdens they face moving forward.
