Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Virginia
Each year, more than 800 people lose their lives in motor vehicle accidents across the state of Virginia. Another 65,000 people are seriously injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents. When people are injured in these serious accidents, they often face drastic limitations going forward, both physically and emotionally. This is particularly true when multiple drivers are involved in a collision. Although motor vehicle accidents can happen for a variety of reasons, the majority of fatal crashes in our state fall under one of three causes, including:
- Speeding: Speed is a factor in nearly 40% of fatal wrecks in Virginia.
- Drunk driving: More than 29% of fatal crashes statewide involve at least one inebriated driver.
- Violating traffic laws: People who do not wear seatbelts, for example, account for nearly 52% of fatal accidents.
There are several things you can do to protect yourself while entering the roads. However, there is no way to guarantee that others will act responsibly. As a result, tens of thousands of people are left with debilitating injuries that cause overwhelming pain and suffer. To add to the struggles and frustration, many victims require medical treatment, hospitalization, and therapy for their injuries that costs tens of thousands of dollars. If you were injured in an accident, due to another motorist’s actions, you should reach out to a car accident attorney in Virginia as soon as possible. You may be entitled to compensation to help cover the financial burdens you face from medical treatment and other expenses.
