Norfolk, VA – Several Drivers Collide at Intersection of Argonne & Columbia Aves

Written by: Virginia Beach Injury Law

Norfolk, VA (May 17, 2022) – Accident reports indicate that at least one person was hurt as a result of a crash that occurred in the Norfolk region in the evening hours of Saturday, May 14.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., troopers with the Virginia State Police and Norfolk Police officers were called to the scene of an accident involving two drivers that had occurred near the junction of Argonne Avenue and Columbia Avenue in Norfolk.

According to the initial inquiry, two drivers collided for reasons that are currently unknown; however, authorities believe that one of the drivers may have run a light in the area. The number of victims who were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment is also unclear.

Accident responders remained at the site of the crash until around 10:00 p.m., during which time they removed debris from the roadway and towed away both cars. The VSP and NPD have not yet completed their investigation into the events leading up to the crash.

Our thoughts and best wishes for recovery are with the victims, their families, and everyone else involved.

Multiple-Driver Accidents in the Virginia Commonwealth

Nearly 68,000 people in the state of Virginia are injured in auto accidents annually. The majority of incidents that occur across the Commonwealth are, unfortunately, caused by drivers who are careless, speed, get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol, and engage in other dangerous driving behaviors.

Worse still, victims of accidents generally need extensive medical treatment and are forced to spend weeks, months, or even years recovering. Sadly, these options are not only expensive but also do not guarantee a complete recovery. Because of the severity of their injuries, many persons who were involved in vehicle accidents are rendered unable to work, resulting in lost wages and loss of future earning potential.

However, if you were injured in an accident that was caused by the recklessness of another driver, you should get in touch with a car accident lawyer in Virginia as soon as you possibly can to discuss the many legal options that are available to you. You may be able to seek compensation to assist you in managing the emotional and financial pressures that come with the costs of medical care and other expenses.
