Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Virginia

Every year, thousands of pedestrians are injured when struck by motor vehicles throughout the United States. Here in Virginia, numerous people are hospitalized with life-altering injuries as a result of accidents. In many cases, vulnerable pedestrians sustain brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and broken bones, all of which require extensive medical treatment.

Not only do victims endure painful injuries that prevent them from engaging in various activities, but they often face tens of thousands of dollars in medical treatment for their injuries while being forced out of work to recover. When victims sustain injuries in accidents, due to the negligence of others, it is imperative that they reach out to a pedestrian accident attorney in Virginia as soon as possible. Victims may be entitled to compensation to help alleviate the financial burdens they face moving forward after being harmed in an accident.

There are many cases where pedestrians are injured in accidents that are completely preventable. In fact, more than 80% of collisions in our state are a result of a negligent or reckless driver. Many accidents in our state are caused by drivers who are texting while operating their vehicles, engaging with others in the car, changing the radio, driving impaired, and acting negligently and recklessly.
