Portsmouth, VA (July 31, 2021) – Officers with the Portsmouth Police Department say that a man died following a motorcycle crash that occurred on the Martin Luther King Expressway early Saturday morning, July 31.
According to police, dispatchers called in the motorcycle crash around 7:30 a.m. It appears that at least one other vehicle was involved in the collision, though the events surrounding the wreck are still unclear.
Despite life-saving measures performed by EMS, the motorcyclist, identified only as an adult male, was pronounced dead before he could be transported to an area medical center. It’s unclear if any other victims sustained injuries in the incident, but officers say their investigation is ongoing. No further details have been released at this time.
