Virginia Beach, VA (March 7, 2022) – Officers with the Virginia Beach Police Department say that a bicyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash with an SUV in Virginia Beach’s North Central community on Sunday afternoon, March 6.
According to VBPD officers, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard, close to the intersection with King Richard Road. Medics responded shortly after the accident took place and rushed the victim to an area medical center. On Monday morning, authorities say the bicyclist, identified only as an adult male, sustained significant injuries and remained in critical condition at the hospital.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with officials. No citations or charges have been filed at this time, and authorities added that the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
