Virginia Beach, VA (August 9, 2021) – A semi-truck accident causing serious injuries crashed in the Virginia Beach area on Monday afternoon, August 9.
Reports from authorities showed that a portion of Indian River Road was shut down after the big-rig crash. Virginia Beach Police say that the 2300 block of the road was shut down for several hours after the collision, which also caused downed power lines. Drivers were advised to avoid the area if possible.
EMS units were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident occurred and appeared to transport at least one victim to an area hospital. Their current condition, as well as their identifying information, was not released. The total number of vehicles involved in the wreck was also unclear.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the wreck is ongoing.
