Virginia Beach, VA – John Hefti Identified in Deadly Wreck at N Great Neck Rd & Shorehaven Dr

Virginia Beach, VA (October 5, 2021) – A serious crash on North Great Neck Road that occurred Monday evening, October 4, left one man dead.

Police say that 58-year-old John Hefti died in the accident, which occurred at the intersection of Shorehaven Drive and North Great Neck Road near Cox High School.

Initial reports state that a Ford pick-up truck was traveling northbound in the 1600 block of North Great Neck Road when it veered into oncoming traffic. Hefti’s vehicle was hit head-on, which pushed it into the path of another vehicle traveling southbound, according to police.

Officials said additional cars were hit by debris from the crash.

Law enforcement said this case remains under active investigation. It’s unclear if any other victims suffered injuries.
