Virginia Beach, VA (March 31, 2021) – Officers are looking for a bicyclist who they say hit and injured a man last Thursday, March 25, near the intersection of Virginia Beach Boulevard and Great Neck Road.
Authorities say that a man, now identified as Kevin Baird, was out shopping at the Lowe’s in Virginia Beach when a cyclist struck him and left the scene. Baird was knocked unconscious and does not have memory of the biker, officials say. Paramedics were dispatched to the scene on Thursday afternoon and transported Baird to an area medical center. He was released on Monday evening and is currently in a rehab facility and will be there for at least two weeks, per a statement released by his family.
Due to a stroke that Baird suffered almost a decade ago, the injuries he sustained from the accident have set back his long-term recovery, family members said. Officers with the Virginia Beach Police Department have asked anyone with information to contact them.
The accident remains under investigation
Our thoughts are with Kevin Baird in hopes of a full recovery.
