Written by: Virginia Beach Injury Law

Virginia Beach, VA (June 1, 2022) – On the evening of June 1, a multi-vehicle accident near mile marker 20.4 shut down a part of westbound Interstate 264.

The Virginia State Police were sent to the location of the incident at approximately 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday. An accident involving two cars occurred in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 264 at the exit for Lynnhaven Parkway, according to officers (Exit 19).

According to initial accounts, a passenger automobile collided with another vehicle in the right lane of traffic. Authorities from VSP think that a third car was involved, however, it is unclear how many individuals were hurt. Those who were injured were either treated on the spot or sent to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

VSP has published a statement indicating that their investigation has begun.

Our sympathies are with those who have been injured as a consequence of this accident. We are hopeful that they will continue to make progress in their recovery.

Multi-Driver Accident Injuries in Virginia Beach

Over the previous year, about a thousand persons were killed in motor vehicle accidents in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Another 65,000 individuals have been seriously injured as a result of these crashes. Worse, victims frequently suffer from the physical and mental aftereffects of the trauma they experienced for a long period after the original occurrence.

Even worse, the majority of Virginia car accidents are triggered by one of the following types of careless driving:

  • Excessive speed is a major factor in over half of all fatal accidents in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs are responsible for more than one-third of all fatal car accidents in the state.
  • Distracted driving, such as sending or reading messages while driving, is another major contributor.

While you should make every effort to keep yourself and others safe while driving, you can’t always rely on other drivers to do the same. Regardless of the primary causes of these incidents, tens of thousands of individuals are left with injuries that prohibit them from returning to work or returning to their usual lives.

The great majority of the time, these patients need continuing medical attention as well as rehabilitation that might last months or even years. Victims may be forced to pay tens of thousands of dollars out of their own pocket as a consequence of this.

As a result, if you are wounded in a car accident that was not your fault, you may be entitled to compensation. It is strongly advised that you and your family contact an experienced accident attorney in the Norfolk area as soon as possible. Virginia Beach Injury Law attorney Ron Kramer II has fought tirelessly to ensure that victims and their families get the justice to which they are lawfully entitled.
