Pedestrian Accidents in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Throughout the state of Virginia, fatal pedestrian accidents claim the lives of more than 75 people yearly. Sadly, these victims are often more vulnerable to serious injuries due to the fact that they are completely exposed to vehicles in crosswalks, walkways, and intersections.
When victims survive, they are often left with serious injuries that require ongoing medical treatment. Hundreds of these victims are rushed to area medical centers after their accidents to undergo emergency surgery, painful treatments, and days or even weeks of recovery. Furthermore, these victims typically require physical therapy for their injuries and counseling for emotional trauma, which is time-consuming and costly.
Though there are many treatment options available for accident victims, none of them come with the promise of a full recovery. Pedestrians who sustain serious injuries may even be left permanently disabled as a result of their accident. When victims suffer as a result of another person’s actions, however, it is essential that they reach out to a pedestrian accident attorney in the Virginia Beach area as soon as possible. A large number of victims are able to file legal claims against at-fault drivers, allowing them to obtain their fair compensation to alleviate the costs of both economic and non-economic damages they’ve suffered.
