Virginia Beach, VA (December 12, 2020) – A fire incident reported in the Virginia Beach area on Thursday claimed one person’s life. Just after midnight on December 11, the Virginia Beach Fire Department responded to the scene of a fire incident on Mill Landing Road.
Reports from authorities show that a fire engulfed a home in the 1600 block of Mill Landing Road during the early morning hours. Fire crews arrived at the scene and discovered heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the home.
Firefighters worked aggressively to extinguish the fire before officially declaring the incident under control.
A victim was discovered inside the home. The person, who was identified only as an adult male, was fatally injured. Authorities pronounced the man deceased due to injuries sustained in the fire. At this time, investigations surrounding the incident are underway with the Fire Marshal’s Office and the Virginia Beach Police Department.
